New Church Update

We have a revised timeline for the construction of the new church on Epps Bridge Pkwy for St Joseph Catholic Church. For the months of May and June the sitework will be in progress for both erosion control and preparation for the footings and slab of the church. James McCrery, our architect, has set July 1 as the deadline for completing the construction documents to be presented to Clarke County for approval. This process of approval typically takes six weeks. During that time, we will be ordering some of the materials for the church. We plan to start pouring footings by September 1. As we approach November 1 we plan to have the steel structure in place except for the last beam. We would like to have a “Final beam” placing celebration on or near November 1st at which those who wish may write their name and their favorite saint’s name (November 1 = All Saints) on the last beam before the beam is raised up and put into place. Please pray that we will be able to hold to this schedule.

Also, we continue to hold the project under the approved budget, which means that we may be able to incorporate the porch feature into the project again. We also need prayers for this to come true.

If you have made a pledge, please make your payments. If you want to give, please do so soon and often! You may do so ONLINE (Sign In | OSV Hub), by mail (note on the check that it is for the Capital Campaign Sanctuary), or by using one of the red envelopes in the church entry and dropping it into the collection basket on a Sunday.
