Answering the Call

Helping those impacted by Hurricane Ida and refugees from Afghanistan

The US Conference of Catholic Bishops have named Catholic Charities USA as the main contact for those wishing to donate to help those in the Gulf region impacted by Hurricane Ida  and for the resettlement of refugees from  Afghanistan.

For information go to: https://www.catholiccharitiesusa.org/2021-priorities.

Please continue to pray for those who lost their lives during these two most recent events and for peace and safety for those still in harm’s way.

Coats for Kids

Knights of Columbus will be conducting our annual Coats for Kids drive this fall.  We will be collecting money donations as well as gently-used coats in all sizes after masses on November 20-21 and November 27-28.  A $15 donation will buy a lightweight coat for a child who would otherwise not have one this winter.  A portion of you donations will be matched by the Knight’s Supreme national council.  So your $15 will turn into $30.

All coat and donations go directly to buy coats for the children in the Athens area.  We support the Oasis, ACTS, St. Joseph’s Charities and others.  We thank you for your support in the past and look forward to your help once more.  For more information contact John Steffl 706-338-5551.
